NEW VIDEOS!

The talented Alicia Keys premiered her new video for her latest single, "Doesn't Mean Anything", on Perez Hilton's blog. It took awhile for me to like this song, but it eventually grew on me. It kinda reminds me of "No One" in a way. This is the first single off her upcoming album, The Element of Freedom, which hits stores December 1st. She looks awesome, as usual.

Mario premiered his new video for his latest single, "Thinkin' About You", last week on 106 & Park. I barely watch that show so that's why I'm catching it now. This video leaves off from his previous, "Break Up", and still features RichGirl Audra. It was directed by Chris Robinson. This is my first time hearing the song, and I like it already. Also, Mario isn't bald in this one! Yay! Check it.

Marge (Yes, Marge) Covers Playboy...

"Marge Simpson is the new cover girl on Playboy magazine. The issue celebrates the 20th anniversary of the cartoon and features Marge on the cover as well as on a 3-page spread inside the magazine. The Playboy November 2009 issue hits newsstands soon"

She does look adorable tho LOL! Now I wonder when Lois will hit the stands...

Iron Mike Not So Hard...

I had missed the Mike Tyson interview with Oprah but thank goodness for WSHH. Along with Michael Jordan, Mike Tyson were quite a few of young boys heroes, just for the fact he could beat someone's ass. However, along the years, he went through some tough times and I myself just thought that man was plan crazy and took too much hits to the head. This interview made me see him more human-like, a child sorta. This interview kinda opens your eyes on Mike Tyson, shed a tear or two and maybe even make you smile on the inside. Take a look.

Best of Both Worlds 09?

If it isn't enough that Trey Songz has been compared to his idol R. Kelly, and people calling Drake the new generation Jay-Z, it was only a matter of time untl the two friends contemplated on a joint album. I mean, why not? Their collabo's are always good. This is what Trey told Rap-Up.com about their friendship:

That’s my homie, man. Making music with him is like two kids getting together to play basketball. It’s gon’ happen, we have fun making music and our working relationship has furthered into a friendship.

About making an album together:
We’ll have to see. That’s crazy. We always talked about that when we first got on. We enjoy making music and we sit back and laugh about a lot of things—life. Look forward to seeing more music from us. I think we’ll make music together as long as we’re both making music.

Trey & Drake have been friends for four years, way before anyone knew who the hell Drake even was. If you go back to Trey's "Wonder Woman" video, Drizzy got a 1.5 second cameo. The two also had a handful of mixtape songs together and new material for Drake's upcoming debut album, Thank Me Later. However, this joint album is just a mere thought. So for the time being, Trey plans to release a video for his next single "I Invented Sex" featuring his longtime friend. Ahhh, aren't they the cutest?

All in Your Ear...

A bunch of new music indeed...

First off, I got this marvelous new track from N.E.R.D. featuring Santogold entitled "Soldier". This upbeat song didn't disappoint me like I thought it would, a very hype song I must say. Santogold's voice just flows so well on this track. This is the first time the two eclectic artists have joined forces. If you can remember some time last year they collabarated on "My Drive-Thru" as a bonus track for N.E.R.D.'s album, Seeing Sounds. This track is to be featured on the soundtrack to the TV series, 90210, which dropped today. Tell me what you guys think, because I think its rad!

Next up is the talented and handsome Robin Thicke. He is well-known for his sweet falsetto voice and smooth music. "Sex Therapy" is a different sound coming from Robin but still has his suave sound. I personally LOVE it. I love the 808's pounding in my ear. Definitely a sexy track. The track was produced by Polow Da Don and is supposed to be the first single from Thicke's upcoming 4th album set to be released by the end of the year. This is a MUST-HEAR!

An unlikely duet in my opinion but hey, that's music for ya. Plies and Keri Hilson clashed together for his song "Medicine". I really like to hear Plies voice on these sweet sound yet griddy-having beats songs. Not quite sure if this will be on his upcoming album, Goon Affiliated. However for some reason, that just doesn't sound like Keri to me. My ears never lie to me. Keri or not, I dig the song.

This one is for all my MJ fans. Although the sudden death of Michael Jackson shocked us all, in some sort of way, he made sure he would never leave us thru his music. And with his new movie, This Is It, coming out, it was only right to released never before heard tracks for the fans. "This Is It" is a sweet song, an enjoyable song that you can expect from MJ. The two-disc album, Michael Jackson's This Is It, will be released later this month around the same time his movie will be in theatre's worldwide only for two weeks. For more info, click here to his official website.

Last night, I have the talented singer/songwriter Kandi Burruss. Although recently, she's been in headlines because of the sudden death of her fiance, her track "Fly Above" was released in its full nature. I've heard snippets of the song while watching her on TV, and I thought it was a cool song. The song is the lead single for her upcoming album, B.L.O.G., set to be released next month. Hopefully, through everything she's going thru, she can eventually "fly above" it. Take a listen guys.

Judgement Day

The Wait Is Ova is the title of Rihanna's 4th studio album. It's expected in stores November 23rd. She's been riding out with her previous hit album, Good Girl Gone Bad, for the past two years. She's laid low for a minute, but it's good to hear that she's is on her way back. Kinda forgot that she was a singer. I'm just anxious to hear some of the material! Last album was kinda big LOL.

5 Star?

I saw the making of "5 Star (Remix)" with Yo Gotti featuring Gucci Mane, Trina & Nicki Minaj. I only saw Nicki's part because... that's all that mattered to me. The whole video was boring to me to be honest. Nicki's lil blue eye Barbie-ness came out, thought it was kinda cute. Blah, nothing much to it. =)

Marlon Wayans Becomes Richard Pryor...

I had to steal this pic from concreteloop.com to get the real feel of it. Word is, comedian/actor Marlon Wayans is to play the late great comedian Richard Pryor in his biopic, Richard Pryor: Was It Something I Said? Last year, it was said to be Eddie Murphy, who has said that Pryor was his idol, but since the production company switched, I guess that thought fell off. If this is true, I am very excited for this. I think Marlon will do a great job. =)

Relations 101: Can We Be Just Friends?

It's that time again folks and a topic that I've been thinking about a lot is can a man and a woman really just be FRIENDS? No type of attraction, no previous sexual relation of any kind, just really be friends. My thoughts on this is kinda scattered. Let's go in, shall we?

Ever since high school, I've gotten along with the opposite sex better than with females, still this way till this day. So, I had a lot of guy friends. It wasn't till last year when I was talking to someone (a guy) and they told me that a guy and a girl can never be friends without at least some kind of attraction of some sort. I disagreed right away because I had plenty male friends that were just that, friends! This specific person had not one female he could honestly call just a friend, just for this simple fact he fucked or had something with every female he knew.

It hasn't been till recently that I have been second guessing my "just friends" theory. I'm not saying ALL guys are like this, but some do play the friend role to ease their way in. So if whatever guy that their "homegirl" is seeing and he fucks up, they can be that shoulder she can lean on, or fuck. But then again, that would involve her talking about her problems and most guys don't wanna hear that.

I myself have quite a few men I call FRIENDS but they are more like brothers to me. They look out for my best interest, give me friendly lectures sometimes, everything that my real blood brother would do. Sometimes girls fling the word FRIEND around too easily, and don't know the difference when a guy wants to be a friend or wants to be "friendly". This also brings me to the movie Brown Sugar. Even tho its just a movie, does the buddy & the booty mix really work at the end of the day? A topic like this can go on forever I think but here's my conclusion.

I DO think males & females can be friends. Sometimes, you realize that you can be friends after your relations with the person. Sometimes, they can be our extended family, a sibling we never had. And sometimes, when you find that friend quality in that person, an attraction may occur. We can't help that. But I think it's possible. =)
