All in Your Ear...

I love Amerie. Her voice can be a bit screechy but I like her music. A few months back she came out with her single, "Why R U", from her upcoming album, In Love & War, due to be released November 3rd. Idk if this track will be on the album but I have a new one from her, ladies & gentlemen. And it happens to feature Mr. Hot Stuff Right Now, better known as Trey Songz. The song is called "Pretty Brown Eyes", a somewhat knock-off of Mint Condition's classic slow jam. I personally think it's IIGHT. Trigga couldn't really save it for me. Nothing special about it. What yall think?

Backlash of the VMA's

I decided not to cover the VMA's because every moment would be repeated EVERYDAY! A lot of hilarious yet reckless and confusing shit happened at the VMA's. However, I do think this was one of the best I've seen in a while. On the other hand, a couple of celebs went thru their "Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda's". Let's see, shall we?

It was in interruption heard around the world. We ALL know what Kanye West did to Taylor Swift, no need to repeat =). Yeezy made an appearance on The Jay Leno Show, and you can just see the embarrassment in his face. Poor thing. Looked like a little boy that was punished. Who knows what made him do that Sunday night. Was it Amber Rose? Was it the Henny? Or was it just regular ol' Ye? Who knows. But we know homie feels bad. =/ He even got the President to call him a jackass. Yikes. We'll see how everything turns out after his little break.

Now, Lil Mama on the other hand, I CAN'T feel bad for. We all were confused when she popped on the stage while Jay-Z was performing "Empire State of Mind" with Alicia Keys. After I watched this, I understood her side of the story, all in the moment and whatnot. OK, yeah whatever. She really looked like a damn fool. Can't even say Brooklyn disowned her for this one, we never claimed her LOL! Ahh man, i'm done. Not going in on shorty.

Answer The Call...

The God MC, Jay-Z, performed at MSG for his 9/11 benefit concert, Answer The Call. For those so unfortunate to not be in the stadium, the Fuse channel did us all a big huge favor and broadcast it LIVE and commercial free! Thanks Fuse! I was one of many to be in my nice cozy house watching this, but it really felt like I was there, which Hov always does for his audience from every distance. I enjoyed the concert very much so. I KNEW he would have his share of celebrity guests. Kanye West, Rihanna, KiD CuDi, John Mayer, Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, Swizz Beatz & Santigold were all in the building. He performed some joints from BP3. The only problem was the crowd. Ugh, they were so whack. I think he should have gave a ticket to everyone in Brooklyn. That shit would been a party LOL! However, just in case you missed the historic event, click hereto watch it (s/o to Jeff!).

All in Your Ear...

I love rap songs about the ladies. Something we can feel special to =). "My Darlin' Baby" by Lil Wayne and Drake is one of those songs. Drake makes the ladies heart melts, whether they want it to or not. Weezy has this thing about him (not his looks, yuck) that lures the ladies. Don't worry, it's not a mushy-gushy song. So, my fellas can vibe out as well. I probably like this song more because its sampled! Now I shall go find out what it is =). In the meantime, enjoy!

9/11

On September 11th, 2001, it was my 3rd day of being in the 7th grade. It was a pretty day out, way better than it is now in NY 8 years later. The day seemed to begin to be weird when my English teach got a call from someone and started crying. When lunchtime came around, I expected to go outside for recess. However, my dean told my whole grade we couldn't. Of course as young kids, we wondered why. We couldn't have done anything in 3 days for us to get in so much trouble that the whole 7th grade couldn't go outside (we probably would have done some bad shit). He then told us that the twin towers were bombed or something like that and we couldn't go outside because the ashes from the impact floated towards our school yard. I was hella confused and sad. At that timed I was bummed because they bombed my favorite buildings. However, as time went bad, it was much more than that.

Obviously 9/11 is one of those days in our lives where we will never forget where we were. But I don't wanna get sappy. I like to think of the happy days of those pretty towers. When as a short little kid, I looked up and thought they were falling on me LOL! Or if my mom or brother drove on Paerdegat North, I saw the very top of them in front of the sunset. Cool shit. Passing there these days, now known as Ground Zero, is kinda creepy. It's just a big ol lot. To think, TWO BIG ASS BUILDINGS once stood there. Smh crazy stuff. However, the aftermath of it brought the whole country together. NYC was real nice for a bit. They totally didn't bring us down. NYC is still the city that doesn't sleep. I love my insomnia ass city. =)

RIP WTC

NEW VIDEO!

The beautiful Keri Hilson has released another video off her debut album, In A Perfect World..., and this time the single is "Slow Dance". This track is one of the many favorites off her album. I like the video. This woman tempts me to cut my hair every time I see her. She looks great as usual. Peep the cameos from Polow Da Don, Chris Brown & Monica. The leading guy is a bit cute too. He looks like I can see him around and I likes that. Tell me what you guys think ;).

No Homer.

I found this cute and funny. Here are some of your favorite hip-hop icons Simpsonized!

The Notorious B.I.G.

Wonder why they didn't make Jay-Z. I'm a little tight about that LOL!

Sample This...

Weren't Bow Wow & Ciara kind of a shocking couple few years back? Well, to me they were. Although the two have broken up and moved on, they had a song in 2005 named "Like You", which was produced by Jermaine Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox. Real cute, very teen love type, and catchy. When I first heard Ciara on the hook and how she just rode the melody, I was amazed. It was so sick to me! What I didn't know that this song was sampled! It shocked me honestly, and disappointed me too, but oh well. They sampled the song from New Edition's "I'm Leaving You Again", mainly the keyboard chord. The original isn't such a bad song either. Now is the time I share my music knowledge! =)

Talk Show Ish...

About some week ago, I peeped a pic of Bow Wow kissing Tyra Banks on her talk show. I was kinda hype because I knew that's what he kinda wanted, he totally has a crush on Tyra LOL! Then I was jealous because I wish I was Tyra :(. I was wondering how this came about. Well, here's the vid. Tyra is sucha clown. Check it out.

Then this lovely man named Trey Songz was on The Wendy Williams Show this morning. This is the 1st time I actually watched her tranny self without falling asleep. He performed his single, "I Need A Girl" then explained the tattoo on his chest (which I already knew the meaning =P). He looked so cute and adorable! I definitely screamed like I was there.

NEW VIDEO!

Well, this was quick! Here's the new video from Dirty Money for their single, "Angels". It was directed by Hype WIlliams, brilliant guy. I kinda didn't expected this view from Diddy, you know he's mad extra. But the videos feel went with the song. Nothing special about the video, but I can watch it. This single is off of Diddy's upcoming album, Last Train to Paris. Check it!
