Anticipation...

If you haven't downloaded Trey Songz new mixtape, Anticipation, please do. I swear you won't be disappointed. Click here for the link. That is all. =)

Sexy Love...

I spotted these pics on theybf.com of Dawn from Danity Kane and Que from Day26. These are from an alter-ego photoshoot they had shot by Derek Blanks. I think they're kinda hot. Even tho their PDA is kinda OD, I guess I dig them as a couple. They are very supporting of each other. And yes, that is Dawn lips tatted on Que's neck and her name by his V-line. SMH, I really despise obvious couple tatts (LIKE NAMES) but whatever. Check the pics out!

VIBE-ing Out...

Another magazine in the dust, say it ain't so! VIBE Magazine has folded. Personally, it is my favorite magazine, the first magazine I ever surscribed to LOL! They covered everything from fashion, video vixens, R&B, Hip-Hop, the whole nine. Then they always closed out with their classic 20 Questions. Ahhh man, this mag will be missed by me! This is what The New York Times said:

"Vibe, one of the nation’s leading popular music magazines, is closing immediately, a spokeswoman said Tuesday.

Word leaked to music and media news Web sites early this afternoon, and the spokeswoman, Tracy Nguyen, said the Vibe staff would be formally notified in a meeting at 2 p.m. She said she did not know how many people would be laid off as a result of the closure.

Vibe’s closure leaves just one large-circulation magazine, The Source, focusing on hip-hop and R&B. The Source has had its own troubles, going through a bankruptcy and emerging under new ownership last year. A rock-focused magazine, Blender, folded last year..."

The final cover will be topless Christina Milian and her fiance, The-Dream. They sucha mix-match couple to me, and I was hoping for a better cover but hey, just as long as the final issue is bomb. Below is some of my favorite covers.

Beyonce Can't Help It...

Found this on YouTube. The same day that Michael Jackson passed away, Beyonce couldn't help to pay tribute to a man she called her hero. This was her show in Philadelphia. She performed "I Can't Help It", and did MJ justice. While everyone was mourning and sad, she performed one of MJ's a feel good songs. This was soo sweet!

Random Picture Time!

BOA CONSTICTA! LMAO!

All in Your Ear...

Believe it or not, Sammie has been in the game for 10 years. Yes, 1999 nigga! Back then he was "Lil Sammie". Now, he's all grown and sexy and succulent (I just OD'ed). But in my eyes, I didn't have to adjust to him being grown, like for example, Bow Wow. It took awhile for me to get used to him cursing and stuff. I was a 10-yr-old groupie. To me, Sammie is like, "Awww, remember when he was young back in the day? HE FINE AS HELL NOW!". I'm kinda looking out for his 3rd album. He has a nice voice. Now, the song that got me feeling some type of way is his cover of Twista's "Wetter". I like Twista's original song, its really sexy and smooth but Sammie brought it to a whole other level. And all I can say is that it's got me feeling some type of way. ;) Take a listen.

Cutie of the Day:

My Cutie of the Day is more than just a cutie. She is simply beautiful! Noémie Lenoir is definitely pleasing to the eye. She was born in France, and her mother has Malagasy ancestry. I never even heard of that! Now, that's fucking exotic. Most of you may recognize her as Geneviève from Rush Hour 3. She has worked for Victoria Secret and Gap. Isn't she yummy? =)

Wooden iPod...

Check this wicked shit out! It's a wooden iPod Mini. You think you'd get splinters by holding this thing, or is it well-furnished? LMAO! I'm sucha clown!

NEW VIDEOS!

I think everyone was only watching the BET Awards to watch Jay-Z new video, "D.O.A. (Death of Autotune)". He really got niggas tight with this joint but Hov has a point. If you're not T-Pain just cut it out! But hey, broke niggas gotta make their money some how, right? I guessed from the trailer that I wasn't going to be disappointed, an epic video like Hov always has and I was right. My nigga has Lebron in the mix, in the video like the well-paid self-boss that he is. BEAT THAT HARLEM KIDS!

Hov lil brother, Kanye West, also dropped his new video, "Street Lights". Quite boring if you asked me. I like this song, I would have expected more. I think Yeezy is gettin lazy. Can't you just come up with a hot concept? We all know your artistic dude! If he was gna make a cartoon music video, should of went back to the guy that made "Heartless". Now, THAT dude was on point.

Michael Jack- I MEAN, BET Awards!

So, last night was the not so entertaining BET Awards. It should have been called the Michael Jackson awards. However, BET did do their best to honor the king but THEY COULD HAVE DONE BETTER! I only really watched it to see if the MJ tributes would be on point and for Jay-Z of course. Jay-Z went hard, but the MJ tributes could have been better. Jamie Foxx hosted the event, and he did a swell job. I swear that guy is like a 1-man show! BET is sucha coon ass channel, I try to avoid it. But you never wna miss the WTF moments. Let's go down the good & AIGHT moments, shall we?

My girl Keri Hilson performed "Turnin' Me On/Knock You Down". I think she killed it. She had her lil MJ flow going. She kinda OD'ed at the end, like the audience was looking like "Uhhh..." but she did her thing! Can't hate! And she wont "Best New Artist" so shoutouts to her!

The talented Ne-Yo performed "Lady of My Life" in tribute to MJ. He did a wonderful job. He sounded fucking great. And it didn't even make me cry. Maybe cuz his head was distracting me... GREAT JOB NONTHELESS! Tribute well-done.

UGH! ONE OF THEE FUNNIEST SHITS I WISH I COULD HAVE SEEN! Skank Robbers with Sheneneh & Wanda. OMG, I was dying when I saw this. Like deadass, they need to invest in this. This is stupid black comedy, this is the shit at its best!

Now, yall know I love Beyonce, but I was kinda disappointed with this performance. =( Only because I expected her to perform "Ego", I mean, Kanye West was there & shit, why not??? But hey, the bitch got to show her vocal ability, which most people don't even listen to nowadays. So, respect Queen B for now shaking her ass and leaving Sasha Fierce at home for once.

Now, you know Brooklyn had to come thru and shut shit down right? Like after Jay-Z's performance, there was no coming back (not like anyone tried anyways...). Hov neva fails.

Ahhhh! Another classic moment! Jody, My Jody... Who doesn't fuck with the movie Baby Boy? Every time I see them together, I think of Yvette & Jody. They make a fab couple *COUGH*COUGH* I really don't know where Ving Rhames came from, he fucked it up with his "Guns & Butta" talk. But It was funny when him & Jody -I MEAN- Tyrese was bout to fight. LMAO!
I HATE YOU JODY!

This was also a good performance. I know The O'Jays music unlike my fellow young ones, so I was jammin' like an old cougar. Johnny Gill was... well, Johnny Gill. Tyrese is a fab singer, always loved him. And Trey Songz definitely kinda showed off his live vocal ability. Can't be mad at that. Needless to mention, after these guys perform, Don Cornelius old ass self tryna tell a short story, but you know when you're old, you never get to the end. And who can forget Eddie and the bad censor guy "People was dancing and shit..." LMAO! Only BET...

I know bitches was HYPE to see Drake perform! But womp womp biddies, he messed up his ACL, which is why he was sitting down the whole night. Niggas was goin in on Drake without even know what's wrong. HATERSSSSSS! But um Young Money? Whack performance, Jay-Z was better. =)

Good thing I watched the show all the way thru. Ahhh man, Maxwell? STILL fine as hell! Even finer with that Caesar? Yum! Is he gay? If he is, don't tell me. LOL!

THE TEAR-JERKER OF THE NIGHT! I thought I was done crying over MJ, but damn it, Janet Jackson had to come out and forced it outta me again. I swear you could of hear a pin drop in that audience. You know those two were close. =/

I know this was what most people were waiting to see. I was, too! Fuck all the beating the crap outta Rihanna stuff, you can't deny Chris Brown's talent. If anyone was to do a proper tribute to the King of Pop, he would have done it so right. But, we were all let down. Word of Jay-Z shuttin that thought down, CoverGirl threatening to pull their AD's from BET, all these supposed rumors (you know Ren Jones don't believe shit...). Welp, there's always the VMA's... hopefully!

Well, those were a few of my favorite moments of the BET Awards. Please believe, if I want entertainment, I know not to expect it from this, assssssssssss usual!

NEW VIDEOS!

OK, kiddies. I got an overload of "new" videos. Why the quotations, you ask? Because idk if they're OFFICIAL new shit, some might be just a teaser, so don't get your hopes up. So, let's start with Diddy's puppets, Day26. Last time I showed you guys their new video ("Stadium Music"), mission failed. It was HORRID! Therefore, I was skeptical about what their video after that (if there ever was to be one) would look like. Here comes their 3rd video, "Girlfriend". Now, watching the video, I'm think how could I not download this song? It's kinda poppin, and it was co-produced by Tank? I was wilding. Anyway, the video is kinda smooth. The spotlight concept reminds me of E-40 & T-Pain's "U & Dat". But I can fux with this. If this is the 3rd single, I can hear this on STRICTLY R&B stations, especially late at night but that's how far I see it getting.

Oh, but these bad boys weren't done! They released another video the SAME day, "Truth Is A Lie". Doing big star tings, huh? Anyway, this video is OK. The scenario, the feel of it is cool. The Asian chick in the video is mad random to me. Don't wanna spoil it tho, you guys will see. So, tell me what do you think about these two vids? Love it? Hate it? TELL REN!

Last but not least, my favorite rapper, Jay-Z, released a trailer for the street banger, "D.O.A. (Death Of Autotune)". If you wanna see the rest of it, it will premiere after the BET Awards on Sunday (let me not get into the awards). I love Jay-Z's videos. They're always epic.

THROWBACK VIDEO!

If you're not interested in reading about Michael Jackson, or me writing about how much I miss him, then Alt+F4 yourself & dip. =) I'm doing all my regular posts but with a Michael twist to it. So, deal with it kiddos.

My THROWBACK VIDEO of the moment is SWV "Right Here (Human Nature Remix)". This was ALWAYS my favorite song from them, since I was a young Ren. Most girls like their known songs like "Weak" or "Rain". Mmmm, cool songs but not for me. A bit too mushy/girly. This song to me is mad laidback and the Human Nature beat doesn't hurt ONE bit.

Idk what other song I would like from them if they ain't come out with this remix. =/

All in Your Ear...

I truely believe Michael Jackson had the best fans in the world. He was an inspiration to most of our favorite artists. So, it was no surprise when The Game, Chris Brown, Diddy, Polow Da Don, Mario Winans, Usher, AND Boys II Men collaborated to make a tribute to the King, "Better On The Other Side (Tribute To MJ)". It wasn't even 24 hrs. since Michael's death and a song was already made. Now, if that's not love, idk what it. Take a listen!

The King Shall Rest...

It's funny how me & my bestfriend used to talk about days we would never forget. Some of our "What Ifs" would be, what if Michael Jackson died. I always said that would be a sad day, a day you would not forget if you were a fan. I didn't know it would come so soon. The King of Pop died today. I was hoping that it wasn't true when it was going around Twitter. There's not one person who is a TRUE music fan that can't say they weren't influence by MJ. THE biggest star in the world, he has sold more albums than ANYONE else with just ONE album, Thriller. Yes, he didn't seem "normal" to most, but fuck all of that. Homie has timeless music. I don't wanna seem like a sap and talk like I knew him BUT fuck that. I'm really saddened by this. I totally cried =(. Without MJ, we wouldn't know Usher, Chris Brown, Ne-Yo etc. Music video wouldn't be how they are. Dancing wouldn't be the same. Even down to the fashion. Homeboy was an inspiration for the majority of the world. I was even hype when he announced that he was doing one last tour in London. No one can take MJ's place, deadass. The only good that came out of this was the memories of our own he has gave us, and that he is truely in a better place, because we all know the media has put him thru some shit. MJ is at peace now. For my true MJ fans, these vids are for you. R.I.P. Michael Jackson.

This is my #1 favorite song from him.

One of the many great songs by the King...

THROWBACK VIDEO! SUMMER EDITION!

New York STILL hasn't gotten any summer weather. But it's aright, we're patiently waiting. Let's go back to 2004. BIG year in music. Crunk was definitely taking over. However, to me, it was always a boys game. Like, girls (girly girls) couldn't really get CRUNK, like GRR!!

Until... little miss Ciara came over and shut it down. Like I said before, I used to be a big Ciara fan. I totally bought her album. I was so infatuated with the song and video for
"Goodies", I learned the WHOLE dance (still know it). I usually always do that to most videos I like from Beyonce, Ciara, etc.

But yeah, when she first came on the scene, she was immediately on every nigga "Bitch I Wanna Fuck" list. This song is still really cute. It's like a taunt girls can sing to guys (LMAO!). Beyonce mastered the "Uh-Oh!" dance but Cici got the booty poppin art DOWN PACKED! Owww! Shoutouts to that.

Hunk of the Day...

Tall, dark & handsome? INDEED! In ode to Transformers 2 coming out today, the Hunk of the Day is none other but Tyrese. Shia LeBeouf was my 1st hunk of my blog, I believe. I ALWAYS liked Tyrese. Remember when he had that under lip ring? Yeah, do ya research kids. I respect him as a singer. He's kinda one of my favorites. His voice is like his skin complexion, chocolatey LOL! Banging body, nice ass teeth, talented guy, he's so yummy. VIVA LA DARKIES!

R.I.P. Ed McMahon..

=(. Sad news guys. Not that most of you would care, BUT I DO! Ed McMahon died today. He was 86 years old. He was most known for being Johnny Carson's announcer on The Tonight Show, you know, "Hereeeeeeeeeeeeee's Johnny!". Us youngins know him as being the host on Star Search. I always wanted to be on Star Search =/. R.I.P ED!

Work...?

So, most of you know I don't fuck with Ciara like that (anymore). She definitely FELL THE FUCK OFF! I just don't feel her music anymore. Kinda sad cuz she used to be a bad bitch. SIGHS! Anyway, she released her new video, "Work" featuring Missy Elliott. Lord only knows where Missy has been. I've been hearing about it for awhile. I wasn't expecting much, so I wasn't really mad when I watched it and got NOTHING from it. I don't even think I finished watching the video. I do, however, respect her dancing skills. She's always on point with that when she's not splitting in every other video. So my lovely readers, was her work well done? Gimme the T!

Pastry Girls...

Reverend Run's entrepreneur daughters, Vanessa & Angela Simmons, are pictured here from a recent presentation of their new clothing line, Pastry Capsule. Sometimes, Angela's weave be pissing me off, always looking rough as hell. But I must admit, I look to her for some styles sometimes. THEY LOOK GORGEOUS!
